Each taxing unit can have a different taxable value and rate. Copy figures from the official records; this worksheet does not fetch or replace the tax account.
Math check: taxable value × rate ÷ 100. If this total differs from the bill, recheck the year, each unit's taxable value and rate, and whether the statement includes prior balances or collection amounts.
A homestead benefit is not a generic senior discount and not every exemption applies to every taxing unit. Eligibility can turn on occupancy, ownership, disability status, service-connected rating, survivor status, documents, and timing.
Select every statement that might fit. This creates questions for BCAD; only the chief appraiser determines eligibility.

Bexar Property Tax Desk is private. It does not set values, approve exemptions, collect taxes, change deadlines, or represent a government office.
If you have a delinquency demand, collection letter, lawsuit, judgment, order of sale, or scheduled tax sale, contact the office or counsel named on it and qualified Texas legal counsel immediately. Do not assume an online form, phone message, protest, exemption application, or partial payment pauses the proceeding.
Most confusion disappears when the account, tax year, taxing unit, value type, and payment status are written down.
Bexar Central Appraisal District (BCAD) appraises property and administers exemptions. The Bexar County Tax Assessor-Collector calculates and collects bills for the jurisdictions it serves; it does not set values or tax rates.
Market value is BCAD's estimate as of the statutory appraisal date. Assessed value may reflect appraisal limitations or special appraisal. Taxable value is generally assessed value minus exemptions and can differ by taxing unit.
BCAD states the ordinary deadline is May 15 or 30 days after the Notice of Appraised Value was delivered, whichever applies. Read the date on the current notice and confirm with BCAD; special circumstances can have different deadlines.
The Tax Office warns that failure to receive a notice generally does not erase the tax, lien, due date, penalty, interest, or collection procedure. Check the online account and correct the mailing information promptly.
Bexar County publishes Half-Pay, Quarter-Pay, 10-Month, prepayment, one-time, and other arrangements. Eligibility, enrollment, written-notice requirements, and deadlines vary. Delinquent arrangements are separate from current-year statutory options.
No. A qualifying deferral postpones collection; it does not cancel the tax. The Texas Comptroller says interest can continue and the deferred balance becomes due after the deferral ends under the statutory rules.
Verify the Tax Office balance and the servicer's actual disbursement. An escrow estimate is not proof that the correct account and year were paid. Review any supplemental or corrected bill too.
